This policy explains what information NFP Teaching collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how to ask for it to be changed or deleted. NFP Teaching is run by Garbus Education LLC (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, email christy@nfpteaching.com.
What we collect
When you use the contact form on nfpteaching.com: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. It is sent to us by email and is not stored on the website.
When you register for Marriage Preparation: both partners’ names, an email address, a phone number, and optionally your wedding date and parish, plus whether you ticked the box to receive newsletters. Payment is taken by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your card number; we keep only Stripe’s reference numbers for the payment, which cohort you joined and when.
If Christy sends you a discount code: your name and email address, so the code can be emailed to you and she can see who it was for.
When you use the portal:
- your sign-in email and the times you sign in, with the device’s IP address and browser type;
- questions you send Christy and her replies;
- your optional one-to-one (session 3) booking: its date, time and video link;
- your completion certificate: its number, the names printed on it, the completion date and the PDF.
If you sign up for the newsletter: your name and email address, when and how you opted in, and when you unsubscribed. Our email provider also records whether newsletters were delivered, opened and clicked.
Bot checks: the contact and registration forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam. It sends details about your connection and browser to Cloudflare to decide whether you are a person.
Class recordings: we may record group classes. If a class is recorded, the recording includes the video, voice and name of anyone who has their camera or microphone on. Recordings are stored in Christy’s Google Workspace account and used only to run and improve the course. Rarely, a recording may be shared with a couple from the same cohort who missed that class. Turn off your camera if you prefer not to appear.
Please don’t send health or medical details through the contact form or portal messages. If you do, they are kept with your questions as described below.
Why we use it
- To run the course: hold your seat, send class dates, video links, reminders and your sign-in link, and run the optional one-to-one.
- To answer your questions.
- To issue and email your completion certificate, and to confirm it if a parish asks.
- To send newsletters, only if you opted in. Class emails always send, whatever your newsletter choice.
- To keep business, tax and payment records, and to keep the site secure.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who it is shared with
We use a small number of service providers. Each one handles your information only to provide its service to us.

Couples are never added as guests to calendar events, so other couples in your cohort don’t see your email address. We may also share information if the law requires it.
One login per couple
Each couple shares one portal login, tied to the email you registered with. Anyone who can open that email account can sign in and see your class details, questions and certificate. If you need the email changed, ask us.
Staff access
Christy (and our technical administrator, for support) can see your registration details, questions and bookings. Staff can also open a read-only “view as client” screen to see the portal as you see it. We keep a record of when this happens.
Not a medical service
The course and portal are educational. They are not medical care, and messages in the portal are not medical records. Because of this, the portal is not covered by HIPAA. For medical concerns, talk to your own healthcare provider.
Cookies
The portal uses one cookie to keep you signed in. Staff accounts use two more: one for the “view as client” screen and one while connecting Google Calendar. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. Videos on the website are loaded from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, Vimeo or Google Drive only when you press play, and those services may then set their own cookies.
How long we keep it
Periods are counted from your last session: your second class, or your one-to-one if it was later.

After 10 years we keep only an anonymous record: that a seat in a cohort was sold, and your certificate’s number and date, so a completion can still be confirmed by number. Payment records are kept by Stripe under its own policies.
Your choices and rights
- Newsletters: untick the box in your portal profile, or use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.
- See or correct your information: most of it is on your portal profile. Email us for anything else.
- Delete your information early: email christy@nfpteaching.com. We will delete your details, questions, bookings and certificate PDF, and remove you from the newsletter list. We keep the anonymous seat and certificate number described above. Names may remain in internal activity records for up to 2 years.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Sign-in uses one-time email links, so there are no passwords to steal. Certificates are stored privately and can only be downloaded through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
The course is for engaged and married couples. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If the change is significant, we will email registered couples.
