These terms apply when you use nfpteaching.com or the NFP Teaching portal, or register for a course. The service is provided by Garbus Education LLC (“we”, “us”). By registering, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The Marriage Preparation course
- Two live online group classes (sessions 1 and 2) by Google Meet, on the dates shown for the cohort you choose.
- An optional 20-minute one-to-one video call (session 3), which you can book in the portal after session 2 if slots are available. Booking closes 2 hours before each slot.
- Questions to Christy through the portal.
- A certificate of completion, issued once Christy confirms you have completed the requirements.
You need a device with a camera, microphone and a reliable internet connection to take part. We may record group classes, but not every class will be recorded.
Who can register
You must be 18 or older. One registration covers one couple, who share one portal login.
Price and payment
The course costs $199 per couple, paid in full at registration through Stripe. Your seat is confirmed when payment succeeds. Prices may change for future cohorts, but never for a seat you have already paid for.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
- If you need a different cohort: you can’t switch in the portal yourself. Email Christy, and she will move you if a seat is available.
- Refunds: you get a full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before session 1. Cancellations made less than 7 days before session 1, or after it has started, are not refunded. If you ask at least 48 hours before session 1, Christy can move you to a later cohort instead. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
- If we cancel or move a class: we will email you as soon as possible. If a cohort is cancelled and you can’t join another one, you get a full refund.
- Missed sessions: if you miss a class, email Christy to talk about options, such as joining that session in a later cohort.
Educational, not medical
The course teaches natural family planning using the Marquette Model. It is education, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and taking it does not create a provider–patient relationship. No family planning method is guaranteed to avoid or achieve pregnancy; results depend on correct and consistent use. Talk to your own healthcare provider about medical concerns.
Your certificate
We issue a certificate of completion after Christy confirms you have completed the course requirements. Each parish or diocese sets its own marriage preparation requirements, so please check with your parish that this course meets them. We can’t guarantee that any parish will accept it.
Your account and conduct
- Keep access to your registered email secure; anyone who can read it can sign in to your portal.
- Be respectful in group classes. Don’t record classes, or share other couples’ names or details, without their permission.
- Don’t misuse the website or portal, for example by trying to access other people’s accounts.
We may suspend access to the portal if these terms are seriously broken.
Course materials
The course content, handouts, videos and the website are owned by Garbus Education LLC or used with permission. You may use them for your own learning, but not copy, share or sell them.
Limits on our responsibility
We provide the website and portal “as is” and work to keep them available, but we can’t promise they will always be free of errors or interruptions. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim about the course is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not responsible for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can’t be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version posted on the date you register applies to that registration.
